FRUIT OF THE ROOTS
This work was specifically created to honor the King of Pop music Michael Jackson.
The painting is more than a musician’s portrait, it reflects an artistic style mixing a
mature approach for singing and dance. This musical style sprung up from Louisiana
through Chicago’s cabarets, the Apollo Theater, American Band Stand and Soul Train,
from showmen like James Brown, Jackie Wilson and Bill “Bo jangle” Robinson.
Today his “music- show” has conquered the world. As a young person Michael Jackson
knew how to capture, innovate and transmit his music the soul of blues, rock and pop to
several generations.
“Fruit of the Roots” is more than a tribute to the singer; it is the consecration of a man who became
a myth on planet earth. While some people try to reach Mars, Michael Jackson conquered an entire
planet through his showmanship, his music and his talent before leaving.
